Our Brief;
Was to create a 4th bedroom and a larger kitchen/family room. More space requires an extension…I’m no magician!
A busy existing house; this required some thinking….but with the possibility of extending to the rear it became clear that we need to re-organise the spaces.
This house had a large ground floor wc, space which was required elsewhere. In the end proved a brilliant link through from the front door to the new space. The WC was re-located to the side and under the stairs with plenty of space
to still be ambulant disabled compliant (should it be needed in the future). Access to our new space allowed the building to breathe and created my clients the obvious solution to turning the small kitchen and dining space into
two individual rooms – The Utility and 4th Bedroom.
The extension then was available for a lovely family kitchen and dining space with direct access out into the garden and plenty of light which had been previously missing.
The existing house;
- Utility
- Kitchen
- Kitchen from dining area
- Lounge
- Dining area
- Rear elevation
Construction begins;
Once we decided upon the design it was time to get the builders in
Spaces were quickly filled, but it proved a fabulous transformation of space.
